Dermot Mulroney

Dermot Mulroney was discovered at Northwestern University by a Hollywood talent agent, arriving in Los Angeles in 1985 where he got his first acting role in the CBS television movie “Sin of Innocence.”  Since then, Mulroney has built a prolific career in entertainment, acting in more than five dozen feature films and multiple television roles throughout the years.

Mulroney made his film debut in Blake Edwards’ “Sunset” in 1987. His many film credits include “August:  Osage County,” “Dirty Grandpa,” “Jobs,” “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “The Family Stone,” “About Schmidt,” “Young Guns,” “The Wedding Date,” “Longtime Companion,” “Where the Day Takes You,” “The Grey,” “Kansas City,” “Bastard Out of Carolina,” “Point of No Return,” “The Thing Called Love,” “Copycat,” “Zodiac,” “J. Edgar,” “Stoker,” “The Rambler,” “Insidious:  Chapter 3,” “Truth,” “Sleepless,” “I Still See You,” “The Mountain Between Us,” and “Will Gardner.”

Mulroney’s television credits include starring in the television movie “Long Gone,” the show “Pure Genius” and guest starring roles on the series “Mozart in the Jungle,” “Shameless,” and Enlightened,” and a recurring role on the comedy series “New Girl.” His most recent television roles include recurring roles on “Arrested Development,” “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “Hanna.”

A classically trained cellist who has been playing since the age of 7, Mulroney contributed his musical talents to award-wining composer Michael Giacchino’s scoring orchestra for films including “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” the “Mission Impossible” franchise, “Jurassic World,” “Tomorrowland” and “Inside Out.”

Mulroney was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, and is a graduate of Northwestern University. Currently, he lives in California with his wife and three children. His birthdate is Oct. 31.
