Casey Camp-Horinek has been a film actor since 1988, starring in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Reservation Dogs, Fancy Dance, Windigo, Winter in the Blood, Barking Water and Goodnight Irene. She has had lead roles in multiple theatre productions, and appears regularly in documentaries and news publications. Camp-Horinek is a long-time Native American rights activist and environmentalist. In 2008, she spoke on environment and native rights to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. She upholds the cultural identity of the Ponca Nation as a traditional Drumkeeper for the Ponca Pa-tha-ta Woman’s Scalp Dance Society. She has received numerous awards such as an American Indian Heritage Award and Best Actress from both the Breckinridge Film Festival and American Indian Film Festival.
