The all-star cast of “Montford: The Chickasaw Rancher” includes veteran actor Tommy Flanagan, who plays the role of the antagonist, Holden. The feature film produced by Chickasaw Nation Productions is based on the life of historic Chickasaw rancher Montford Johnson.

The film portrays the great hardships and tragedy Johnson and those close to him overcame to establish a vast ranching empire along the famous cattle highway of the American West, the Chisholm Trail.

In 1995, Flanagan made his breakout performance in Mel Gibson’s epic “Braveheart,” playing the brash rebel Morrison in a memorable role that earned him worldwide recognition.

That same year, Flanagan earned critical praise and numerous “Best Actor” nominations for his role as “Da,” the troubled Irish father in Lynne Ramsay’s “Ratcatcher.” The film would go on to earn many awards as well including honors from the London Film Critics Circle and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

Flanagan played the role of “Cicero,” a trustworthy ally to Russell Crowe’s character in the Academy Award winning movie “Gladiator” for director Ridley Scott. Flanagan’s focused and loyal portrayal once again earned him praise and international recognition.

Flanagan starred for seven seasons on the FX hit series “Sons of Anarchy” in the role of Filip “Chibs” Telford, opposite Charlie Hunnam in the hourlong drama, which focused on a motorcycle gang working to maintain their independence and way of life in the small fictional town of Charming, California. The series became one of the highest-rated shows on television.

Flanagan has also created great roles in hit series including ABC’s “Detroit 187” and FOX series “24,”“Lie to Me” and “Peaky Binders” opposite Cillian Murphy and Sam Neill.

Flanagan played “Tommy the Knife” in the highly-rated second season of FOX’s “Gotham” based on characters from the Batman DC comic books.

Flanagan was recently seen in the award-winning independent film “Winter” directed by Heidi Greensmith, in which he plays an emotionally-tortured painter trying to keep his family together after the sudden loss of his wife. For his performance, Flanagan won a “Best Leading Actor” award at the New York City International Film Festival.

Flanagan also appeared in the military drama “Sand Castle” as well as played a starring role in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”
